I believe I was 8 when Chamber of Secrets came out, and I bought it and the SS and read them both in a week.

Laff. 41! I've walked past the HP franchise in bookstores for years, and semi-deliberately avoided it. I think I finally got curious only after I heard that DH was the final book.
Now I've read all 7 (3-7 in about the last two weeks ), and seen movies 1, 2, most of 5, and the trailer for 6 (haha).

I was fourteen. I had decided I wanted to see what the Hype was about, and so I took out books 1-3, I think. I got so hooked after that

I hate to read. But this october in my english class my teacher made us read Sorcerer's stone. I saw all the movies before reading the books but after we finished reading SS in my class I was too into it not to read the rest. Teacher said we will read the second and third book and I've seen all the movies up to OotP so I skipped and read the 6th and 7th. Will start reading 2-5 very soon though... I was 14 when we started reading SS in my school and I am 14 today
