The Cedar Rapids Museum of Art in Iowa is holding an exhibition of Mary Grandpre's art. This exhibition includes many never-before-seen illustrations for the American editions of the Harry Potter books. Amongst them are alternative book covers for Sorcerer's Stone (entitled Harry Potter and the School of Magic), Half-Blood Prince, and Deathly Hallows as well as illustrations of different scenes from the books.

Yeah... some of them were drawn even before Sorcerer's Stone came out in the US.
This artwork isn't necessarily new... this is an art exhibit. Mary Grandpre's Harry Potter artwork is on display... some of it in it's original form. Some of it you may have seen before, some of it you might not have. And I believe some of it has never been shown to the public before.

hmmm I don't know...maybe that was a possible title change they were considering for the first book in America. in french is pretty much school of sorceror's so its not completely out there.

They considered that for a title to the book at one point, but JKR didnt' like it. They settled on Sorcerer's Stone.

The french book did end up with that title, though.

Well, yeah, but the US didn't, lol.

I like the picture of the DA in the RoR the best, I think. The one of Hagrid and Harry in Diagon Alley is too cute.
